Visual Frameworks

- Visual frameworks are metaphors.
- Metaphors are adjunctions, the main subject of category theory.
- Many visual frameworks can be understood as visualizations, thus as restructurings. But they lay semantic content onto that. They also can focus on some aspect or scope of the visualization. And they can express that as metaphors which are specified in some context and illustrated in some context but may have a much broader meaning and applicability. Thus the metaphor provides a handle on the meaning of some aspect.
